In this section we will answer some of the most frequently asked questions and some other questions you may or may not have as well…
Is this a picture of Stefano? Yes this is a picture of Stefano taken for his very first passport and as you can see he was drooling all over himself in anticipation for his journey ahead.
What Should I Wear? This is a biq question for many of our fashion conscious friends and family, and the answer is similarly big. There are a variety of events and traditions that are coming together for this wedding and we will experience an equally wide variety of tastes and color…Sapana why don’t you answer this question.
The spirit of the Mehndi and Sangeet is absolute fun. Traditionally, ladies where gorgeous dresses with intricate design and beadwork, which is the hallmark of Indian fashion. Unlike the wedding ceremony and reception, the attire for the Mehndi and Sangeet is COLORFUL. While the dresses are just as luxurious and formal, they are more comfortable, playful and bright. Of course for our Mehndi and Sangeet, there is absolutely no requirement to wear Indian attire, and ladies may wear just about any type of cocktail attire. The gentlemen are required to wear colorful suits… just kidding! Gentlemen may wear any type of suit they prefer.
The attire for the Catholic wedding ceremony and reception is cocktail or gowns for ladies and suits for gentlemen. The reception will be aboard a cruise. If the ladies are concerned about wearing gowns aboard the cruise– do not worry, the boat is comfortable enough for it to be worn. However, shorter cocktail dresses might be more fun, particularily for the warm summer night in June.
The attire for the Hindu wedding ceremony and reception is evening gown for ladies and dark suit or black tie optional for gentlemen.
Where Should I Stay? The wedding is in Huntington Beach, CA but leading up to the wedding site there will be events in other parts of town. The primary factors for decision will be how long you plan on staying in the area and your travel budget. Please visit the accommodations page for more information.
What Should I Bring? Not a popular question but if this thought crosses your mind, here is a suggestion in no particular order: your appetite, sunglasses, smile, dancing shoes and some good jokes/stories. Depending on what activities you want to do other things may apply in no particular order: bikini, board wax, body wax, hiking boots, roller skates, poker face, binoculars, Mickey & Minnie mouse hats, horse whip, shopping bags, wine journal, and snorkel. For more information on activities please visit the local attractions page.
What Will I Be Eating? Lots….No, seriously you will be.
Will There Be Meal Options for Vegetarians? Yes. We would appreciate it if you could let us know that you will need this option, or if you have any other strict dietary restrictions, when you submit your rsvp.
How Will I Get to the Events? Transportation will be provided from the hotels and back to the Mehndi and Sangeet, Catholic Wedding & Reception, and Indian Wedding & Reception.
How Will I Get to the Hotel from the Airport? It’s really up to you but besides a taxi (which will be expensive) the best way from LAX (if you don’t mind riding in a van with a group of people) is using Shuttle2Lax because its relatively fast and only costs $20 for the first passenger and $12 for each additional passenger. You may want to bring some entertainment for the ride too because depending what time you fly in you may hit traffic. (Fun Fact: Los Angeles sells more cars than the rest California, California sells more cars than the rest of the United States, so prepare too learn the definition of vehicular congestion). Sapana used to always tell me about all the people she used to meet in her daily commute to UCLA from home, maybe you also will make some new friends or acquaintances on your way to and from.
